The Album Drop

An the Horse they rode in on

An Horse is a wonderful 2 piece from Brisbane, Australia. Singer/Guitarist Kate Cooper met Drummer/Vocalist Damon Cox while the 2 worked together at an independent record store. The group sounds like a Canadian pop vocalist from the mid-late 90’s had a baby with a punk band. But it sounds awesome!!!

I had the pleasure to see the duo in the fall of 2009, at the Civic Centre in Ottawa, with Cage The Elephant & Silversun Pickups (probably the best show of ’09) and they ruled.

Their 2008 debut EP Not Really Scared & 2009 LP Rearranged Beds both were well received from the music community. I recently had the chance to listen to their new EP Camp Out – set for digital release Dec 6 in the UK & Ireland. It’s a mix of a few tunes from Rearranged Beds, but with a couple of remixes that really bring their sound to new places. Never more then after these remixes does the true beauty of their sound come to fruition. Listen for yourself. According to their press release, this is just meant to wet the pallette, as the band is held up in Vancouver recording a new record, set for release in 2011.
