The Album Drop

The Amalgamation – May 20/2011

Had a chance to make it out last night. So, I used that opportunity to head down to Zaphod’s – one of the cities best venues for new music. Taking the stage was Ottawa’s own The Amalgamation. These guys get better every time I see them. As the band gets more comfortable with playing these songs live, the quality of their show continues to progress. The show started with just the 3 core members of the band, Jeff, Brandon & Brad and as the set progressed they added Brodie on keys, Sean on sax (it was a great spectacle when he walked on-stage through the crowd and just owned it) and an eventual visit from former bassist Isiah, for their set-closing performance of their single, Serotonin. If you ever have the chance to see these guys, make sure you do it, as it will be worth the cost of admission, and check out their album below!!
