Weekend Music Round Up – August 13, 2011

Coldplay has announced the name of their new album. Mylo Xyloto will be out on October 25, with the first single, Paradise hitting the airwaves September 12th.

The aptly-named super group, SuperHeavy have released a video for their first single, ‘Miracle Worker’. The group features Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, Damien Marley & Dave Stewart from the Eurthmics. It’s a pretty cool song:

Radiohead have announced plans for the remixes that have been kicking around since the release of The King Of Limbs. “TKOL RMX 1234567” will have 19 tracks, and will be seeing store shelves October 11th. The group will also appear on the season premier of Saturday Night Live September 24th, with host Alec Baldwin.

A major casualty from the London Riots: a Sony warehouse, hosting several independent label’s supply was set ablaze. On the plus side, it seems they’ve caught the punks that did it but there is still the matter of the small labels that won’t make any sales for a few months. Alexisonfire broke up last week, and here’s the follow-up. Singer/Guitarist has joined English hardcore The Gallows, after the departure of their former singer Frank Carter. Meanwhile, Dallas Green also has a few things to say after the break-up

Oscar Award-Winning Alternative Icon Trent Reznor has leaked part of his score for the film “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” (A Collaboration with Atticus Ross) set to hit theatres December 21. The clip is quite reserved, and the piece does little to resemble the cover of “Immigrant Song’ [with Karen O.], which hit the net a few months ago. Enjoy:

As expected, Jay-Z and Kayne West’s collaboration, Watch The Throne has gone to number one in almost every country iTunes has a store for. Picture courtesy AlanCross.ca
