Weekend Music Meltdown – October 23, 2011

Beck played his first show in over 2 years this past weekend. Here’s some proof (and more here):


The Black Keys have announced details about the lead single from their new album, “El Camino.” ‘Lonely Boy’ will debut on Radio and iTunes October 26th. They made a Facebook Event for it. The 12″ single will be available in stores November 25th for Record Store Day’s Black Friday alongside a bunch of really cool releases.

The Roots have announced details on Album 13, “Undun”. It’ll be a concept record, and you can read those details here. The first single ‘Make My’ featuring Big Krit is streaming at this link

Jay-Z & Kanye West are being sued over an Uncleared Sample. Reports say the age of the song may factor into the decision, as the sample comes from a tune that was recorded before copyright law changed in 1972. We’ll see how it goes.

In spite of the concerns of local residents, it appears Coachella is a go for 2012. And it’s been bumped up to 2 weekends. More from L.A. Weekly
