Weekend Music Meltdown – August 27, 2011

Jon Stewart is set to host a ’round-table,’ ‘town hall’ type discussion on Sirius XM to celebrate 20 years of Nevermind. The 2 Hour Program will include Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic & Producer Butch Vig as panelists, and will see the three taking questions from a live studio audience, as well as from the internet. The show will air September 24th at 8pm EST on Sirius XM Channel 34 (“Lithium” – a new channel set up to celebrate the anniversary of the album, airing for 5 days, playing only Nirvana)

Tokyo Police Club have launched an ambitious new project. “10 Songs, 10 Days, 10 Hours, 10 Years” has the Toronto based band covering a new song every day. The band takes 10 hours to rehearse and record a song, and pick a new song from the first decade of this century each day. Despite being sponsored by Polaroid (Their still around??) it’s a cool idea.
